Silent Strength is a charity in the early stages of development. It is co-founded by Clementine Deny, who has lived with severe social anxiety. Her partner Arvinder Gill experiences its effects firsthand through supporting Clementine daily. Together, they are building Silent Strength to offer support for individuals facing similar challenges. They provide financial assistance. They also offer long-term therapy access and remote job opportunities designed for those with social anxiety.
Why Silent Strength?
Social anxiety is one of the most common mental health conditions, affecting around 10% of people in the UK. Despite its prevalence, many people with social anxiety struggle to find the resources they need to manage their condition effectively. From navigating intimidating benefits systems to accessing therapy beyond the limited sessions offered by the NHS, the barriers are significant. Silent Strength was created to fill this gap. It ensures that people with social anxiety receive the support they need to thrive.
How We Help
Silent Strength aims to provide financial assistance to individuals. This support is for those who are unable to work due to their social anxiety. We want to help with essential living costs. Additionally, we aim to cover therapy expenses. We want to ensure that individuals can focus on their mental health. We want to help without causing financial strain. To apply for financial assistance, individuals will be able to submit an application form on our website. They must detail their current situation and needs. We will then work to connect them with the necessary support.
Our therapy program will provide funding for long-term mental health treatment, beyond the standard NHS offering of 12 CBT sessions. We aim to partner with licensed therapists who specialize in anxiety disorders. These therapists will offer individuals the ongoing therapy they need. This will help them regain confidence and lead fulfilling lives.
Our Mission in Action
“Before starting Silent Strength, my social anxiety made it feel like I was trapped in a cycle. I couldn’t escape it. I struggled to find the help I needed and was often left feeling isolated. Through support from my partner and the resources we’re now building, I’ve regained the strength to move forward. Silent Strength was created to offer the same lifeline to others.” — Clementine Deny, Co-Founder
Advocacy for Systemic Change
Silent Strength is not just about immediate assistance; we are advocating for long-term, systemic changes. We are pushing for reforms in the Personal Independence Payment (PIP) system. We seek to simplify the application and assessment process for people with social anxiety. We work with policymakers. Our goal is to ensure that the support provided to individuals with mental health conditions is accessible and compassionate.
How You Can Get Involved
As Silent Strength grows, we invite individuals to join us in building a supportive community. Here’s how you can help:
- Donate: Your contribution will help fund therapy, financial assistance, and future remote job initiatives.
- Volunteer: Offer your time or expertise to help us grow and reach more people.
- Spread the Word: Share our mission with friends, family, and on social media. This will raise awareness of the challenges faced by those with social anxiety.
Our Future Roadmap
We are in the early stages. Our goal is to raise £5,000 to cover the initial startup costs. These costs include registering as a charity, developing our website, and launching our outreach efforts. By the end of our first year, we aim to be fully operational. We will provide financial aid and therapy support to our first group of individuals. Within three years, we plan to expand our services nationwide. We will offer comprehensive remote job opportunities. We will also push for broader systemic reforms.
Our Vision
A world where individuals with social anxiety are fully supported. They have access to mental health resources and remote work opportunities. They also have the chance to live without fear or stigma.
Our Mission
To empower individuals with social anxiety. We provide financial aid, therapy access, and remote job placement. We also advocate for policies that promote long-term, meaningful support.
